“Floods Displace Thousand: Schools and Worship Places Turned into Emergency Shelters”

Feni’s Central Mondir has become a shelter for people affected by the flood. The field in front of the area, the school, and the access road are still submerged in knee-deep water. People from different regions are coming through this water to take shelter because their homes are under the water. More than a thousand families have taken shelter to save their lives and took shelter in various rooms in the buildings of the school for the last week. There is a large crowd of flood-affected people staying on the verandah of this makeshift shelter. The people are worried about food scarcity, and their faces show a sense of helplessness. Children are crying for food and water and females are denied for their health issues. Few families are staying in a room. The Research and Empowerment Organization (REO) is helping them and will take responsibility for providing food to these affected people sheltering in the school for one week.
